Safer, better road surface
Ramps, bridge decks and overpasses will get improved skid resistance and a smoother finish. We're working at night to impact less traffic. To make it better for our neighbours we won't be in the same spot for more than two nights in a row...
We'll be working from 9pm to 4am Sunday night to Friday morning each week.
Our program aims to have the noisiest work completed by 11pm each night. Also, we won't be in the same spot for more than two nights, leaving a 13 night break before returning if the work isn't finished.
We'll be removing the existing surface layer, laying new asphalt and re-applying the line marking. In most locations this process will only take one night and will involve a lane closure.
In some locations a ramp entry or exit may be closed during the work. This will be advertised at the location and here at least five days before the work.
Phase one locations are: Belmore Road, Fairford Road, River Road, Henry Lawson Drive, Heathcote Road, Moorebank Avenue, Hume Highway and Camden Valley Way ramps, as well as the Heathcote Road and Hume Highway overpasses.
Phase two of the project will occur in the second half of 2017 (likely September to October). The locations in phase two will be: Fairford Road, The River Road, Henry Lawson Drive, Heathcote Road, Moorebank Avenue and Beech Road Interchanges as well as the Kurrajong Road Over Pass.
